Belize Red Cross Communicates With Belize And The World

Belize Red Cross Communicates With Belize And The WorldThe newest method of communicating about the impact of the work the Belize Red Cross has been doing is through beneficiary stories and videos. In 2012, a consulting team from Mexico City, Humanitarian Productions, did a wonderful job at capturing the story of a young volunteer, Tremaine Maskall (Mitchell) and his neighbourhood, the Jane Usher Boulevard Community. His community has always been stigmatized as crime ridden and poverty stricken. Tremaine tells the story of his vision for improvement so that younger children growing up can enjoy a cleaner, healthier and more improved lifestyle in this very same neighbourhood. This video is a must see! You can access it on the Belize Red Cross Facebook page or on Youtube.com

Congratulations are in order for Tremaine Maskall (Mitchell)! He has become one of our very dedicated youth volunteers and a real role model for youths. He was awarded with the second runner up for the “I am Belize Citizenship Award” in 2012.

Another must see video is one developed by Pro Planeta from Brazil, on climate change adaptation, which was filmed in Hopkins and Sittee River in the Stann Creek District. Staff and Volunteers of the Stann Creek branch participated. This video, (BelizeParticipatoryVideoFinal.mp4) can also be accessed on the Belize Red Cross Facebook page and Youtube.com.

The National Society also gives a big thank you to all the Volunteers who take the time out to ensure that the children have a really good Christmas party each year.
