Charity For Education
February 1st, 2017
August, 2012. Training for staff and volunteers of the Belize Red Cross countrywide could not have come at a better time, as just one week prior to the training held on August 25th & 26th, 2012 the Headquarters was targeted by burglars. The training was made possible through the “Strengthening Resilience in Urban Youth through Education” Project with co-funding and facilitation by the ICRC.
Almost every day staff and volunteers of the Red Cross Movement are risking their lives to reach the vulnerable and those who have fallen victims of armed conflict, violence and internal strife. In order for the BRC to be better prepared for these humanitarian challenges during interventions with communities, the ICRC conducted this 2-day training in the “Safer Access Framework” to promote the safety of all Red Cross personnel. The approach was comprehensive and specifically designed to meet today’s challenges. There were a total of 43 BRC representatives attending the training with seven of the 8 branches represented.
